Where are you located?
Answer Kansas City has been owned and operated in the Kansas City Metro area since 1976. We have been at our current location in Lenexa, Kansas since 1991.
Do you outsource your calls out of the area or overseas?
Absolutely not. All of our agents are in-house at our Lenexa, Kansas location. We are happy to service all of our clients – worldwide, and we do so from Kansas with our professional, friendly Midwest charm.

We could talk about our sophisticated technology… Or our complex training structure… But one word really sums up our outstanding quality – PEOPLE. Our telephone agents, supervisors, management staff, etc… all make up a group of highly-effective and just plain awesome individuals. From our day shift supervisor who has been with us since the 1980’s to our administrative staff that has 100+ years of combined experience, you will immediately experience a feeling of our commitment to your success. Can you answer my established business number?
Absolutely! You are able to send your calls to us using call forwarding (a service you receive from your current telephone service provider). Give us a call and we will consult with you about which call forwarding option will best suit your needs.
How long does it take to get set up?
Setting up your professional answering service with Answer Kansas City is quick and easy! Most accounts can be set up within a business day. Everything can be done over the phone and email; or we would love for you to come and visit us, meet some of our key people and take a tour of our operation.
Can you transfer callers directly to us?
Yes! With our remote receptionist service, we are your receptionist – remotely. We will answer your calls and transfer the callers to the appropriate personnel. We will also take messages for personnel not available and email or text those messages to your staff members right away.
Can our staff members each have their calls handled they way they choose?
Yes! Custom tailoring accounts to meet our clients’ specific needs is a specialty of ours. We understand that your people are individuals, and that’s part of what makes your organization strong. Individual people have individual preferences. We are here to be an extension of your business. Each person in your organization will be able to tell us exactly how to handle his/her calls. Or, if you prefer we can follow protocols based on department, the caller’s individual needs, or perhaps even who is calling. The options are limitless and can be changed at any time.
Will there be a set up fee?
The overwhelming majority of accounts do not require a set up fee. Once we have consulted with you about your unique needs, we will recommend a rate and let you know at that time if a set up fee will be required.
Is there a long-term contract?
We don’t have long-term contracts – just month-to-month service agreements. Our clients choose to continue with our services because of our quality, and because our people are so great at what they do.
What are my payment options?
We accept cash, check and most major credit cards. We can also set up an ACH agreement so that you can authorize an ACH debit out of your business checking account at any time. Don’t want to take the time to worry about paying each month? No problem… We will be happy to automatically charge a credit card, or perform an auto-ACH each month.
What if I don’t need service 24/7?
You completely control when we answer your phones using call forwarding. We make ourselves available 24 hours per day, every single day of the year. We’re always here when you need us…. Even if it is only part time.
Are you HIPAA Compliant?
Yes. Our agents are trained and brought up-to-date as regulations change. Our entire organization is committed to handling your calls in a manner consistent with HIPAA regulations.
What do you do to ensure that you are up and running 24/7?
Our disaster preparedness program is thorough and reliable. Our battery backup systems provide instant support for several hours, and that is backed up by a diesel generator. Our internet connection is backed up by another internet connection from a different provider. Servers have backup servers, and we even subscribe to a service that allows us to route all of our calls through a switch/server over 500 miles away should our building be deemed uninhabitable or our city be hit by something unforeseen. Our system is managed by our full time Network Administrator – not an outsourced service. “Down” is not an option at Answer Kansas City…
What are your rates?
All of our clients deserve a custom-tailored service designed to meet their unique needs. We bill on a very fair, usage-based structure. We bill by the millisecond (no rounding to the next minute, 10 seconds, or whatever else is the latest fad in rounding out there). Our lowest rate starts at $55.00 per month, and we have various plans customizable to meet your needs.
What happens if I need to make changes to my service or have a question?
We have a full administrative staff to meet your needs, as well as shift supervisors who are experienced in consulting with you about your service.
